Railroad depots were once the hub of cities and towns across the country, much as the Las Cruces Railroad Depot used to be. What was once the center point of Las Cruces, is now a museum that showcases and educates visitors on the impact of the railroad industry with exhibits including railway artifacts, an actual old-time caboose, and even model train sets of various gauges. And Visit Las Cruces sat down with David Lundy, manager of the Las Cruces Railroad Museum, inside the museum to learn about what the place offers and teaches about how the railroad shaped the City of Crosses -- and still does as freight is still dropped off and picked up at the railyard located alongside the museum.
